Clinton's Folly - A President's Apology

Bob Chen

Tomorrow night Clinton will address the nation on his being a dirty old man related problems. I don't know his responses to the grand jury beforehand, but I do know the injustice done to him by the news media, especially the bunch of third rate or lower people at ABC (i.e., George Wills, Sam Donaldson, and Cokie Roberts). It is true what Clinton did was wrong; but for any man in his fifties, and ran into a nymphomaniac of twenty-one would have responded the same. It is not totally Clinton's fault but the society-at-large's. Monica Lewinsky came from a broken home in Beverly Hills where a lot more than oral sex were condoned. The first name of Cokie Roberts leads men to prurient ideas linked to: Cokie-cookie-lollipop-sucker-Lewinsky without any trouble in free association.
True, Clinton's wrong-doings are worst than Nixon's. However, one should not stick to minor character flaws and forget the good deeds he did and continues to do for the less than well-to-do Republicans. Remember the saying that to err is human and to forgive is devine. I think Clinton has suffered enough and the people should let him to go on to finish his second term. The ordeal he, Mrs. Clinton, and Chelsea went through the last seven months was punishment that he'll never forget the rest of his natural life.
