There was silent movies, then came the "talking" pictures, the so-called talkies.

The still pictures were first made into a "moving pictures" by taking a series of shots with a small amount of motion at a time and then flip thru the still frames in a fast motion to yield a "moving" image, just like the old style cartoons. These things are called "moving "pictures, or movies.

"Saving private Ryan" is a movie and a "moving" movie.
