Comment on ChitChat #18

Peter Tong

I like to comment on Bob's Chit-Chat 18. If to err is human and to forgive is divine, Clintion will soon be the most human, and Bob and 75% Americans will all be saints for being so forgiving.

It is a misception that all fifty years old men are dirty and all presidents are crooked.

People in public office can easily abuse their office. Because their previlege, it is absolute necessary for the citizens of a democratic country to insist that their leaders uphold the standards of society. I've long maintain that the Chinese government officials are corrupted because the people allow them and even encourage them.

It is vital to our system that we hold our officials responsible for their deeds. I'll gladly ignore any transgression among the common citizens but I cannot ignore the misdeeds of those in high office. And, there is no higher office than the Presidency.
