Chit Chat # 19

I was to call this article "Author's Closure", but my esp (i.e., extra sensory perception) tells me otherwise. It will be a good topic for the lighters to get involved, not just reading. I don't mind siding with 75% of Americans to stand by our man from Littlerock, Arkansas. It is more than a concession to say what Clinton did was worse than Nixson. It is easy to sound high and mighty, or holier than thou, and to get on the resign/impeach band-wagon. There are enough of them on Sunday morning talk-shows without adding a Chinese-American representative, albeit a self-nominated one. I wish Lighters' web-site has a large circulation so that the world at large will know that we do reflect a cross-section of the society with diverse ideas, and responses to the
news.

I don't recall when Princess Diana died last year in Paris; Peter wrote anything in scolding the ex-husband (Prince Charles). After all, we are transplanted from Hong Kong, and may treat lightly anyone connected to the House of Windsor. Why Peter does not apply the same rule to Prince Charles, who has a mistress? To me, the future King of U. K. and Northern Ireland should be equal to a sitting American President. He is definitely not John Bull off the street, or the play-boy a la Hugh Hefner. We have F. D. R., Dwight D. Eisenhower, and J. F. K., all past presidents with mistresses/girl-friends. Clinton is not the only one with transgressions. I like to hearing from all Lighters, Peter included, to discuss this American history in the making. I don't believe I'm the only one that's willing to come out of the closet. Lighters, do respond.
