10 best places to retire in USShik-Lung Mark on 04-Nov-1997 Recently, I read a rating of the 10 best places to retire in US and why from the Money magazine that I would like to share with all the Lighters. They are: 1. Madison, Wisconsin - Low crime rate, superb health facilities and a economy. 2. Punta Gorda, Florida - Low crime rate, no state or local income tax, sunny weather. 3. Rochester, Minnesota - Low cost of living and low crime rate. 4. For Lauderdale, Florida - Plenty of golf courses, tennis courts and stunning beaches. Plentiful healthcare and high property values. 5. Ann Arbor, Michigan - Excellent air and water quality and one doctor for every 50 peoples. 6. For Myers/Cape Coral, Florida - Situated on gorgeous beaches on the Gulf of Mexica, affordable housing, great weather and low unemployment. 7. Ganineseille, Florida - Very low cost of living, affordable housing and property values that appreciate as much as 10.5 percent a year. 8. Austin, Texas - Bustling economy, no state or local income taxes, and affordable housing. 9. Seattle, Washington - No state income tax, superb health care and gorgeous mountin scenery. 10. Lakeland, Florida - Very low housing prices and extremely low property taxes. As we can see,
the criterias they used for the rating is pretty much
what we/most the people would be looking for: the safety,
health care, low cost of living ( taxes, housing ..),
environment, climate and recreations. To add to this list
for us would be Chinese Food and Humanity (relatives and
friends). Among the 10, I like #4, Fort Lauderdale,
Florida where I understand has Muk Tao |
