I
am responsing to SS Lau's Movie Talk. I am somewhat a movie buff myself. I do like the
Casablanca and "the year to live dangerously" but actually my all time favorite
is Fellini's "8-1/2" and Orson Wells "The Third Man". These happened
to be B & W.
And then for pure entertainment, I love all the
action with special effects, including Peacemaker. SImply because it uses current events
as backdrop. If SS like The Year .. I wonder if he like the "Under Fire" of the
Niganarguar revolution, or "Z" and "State of Sieze" both by Brunel.
These movies literally made me shaked in my seat - talk about realistic acting. I like
"Platoon" because I was very disturbed by it. But I don't like The Killing
Field.
For action, Predator is another of my favorite.
ALl the old James Bond as well.
Any one want to talk Ingmer Bergman ? Nah.
Peter Seller's "Dr. Strangelove ..." ? "Seven Days in May", wait, I am
all listing B & W classics.
OK. enough to start discussion.
