"The Thin Red Line"

The movie was about the first American victory in the Pacific. The time was 1942 and the place was Guadalcanal---not a canal at all, but an island in the South Pacific named after a Spanish town . This movie is really brutal, sad and impart the philosophy that all wars are essential pointless. "Saving Private Ryan" is soft and kid stuff compared to this movie. I do not regret seeing it, but I won't see it again for a long long time.
