I was looking at the photos taken at the 35th
reunion in Vancouver and I counted 42 Lighters at the Gala event. The reunion was
organized by Gina. She has this job for life and I love it. I hope she loves as well as I
do. Ha, Ha!!! She also organized the Caribbean Cruise a few years before, just nice.
In 1994, I had black hair ( at least in the photos), and I looked like a young person and
I was. I still remember "Big Nose" stripped off his shirt and underware and held
up a big piece of ice while touring a glacier in Canada. Everyone there was young again
because we were together as kids again. Big Nose now lives in Taiwan, I have not see or
heard form him since. I think of him often.
In 1999, I cannot find too many black hair on my head, I don't have too much hair left,
and I look like an old person and I am. What has happened in these 5 years, nothing much
personally, but a lot on the world stage. I have just become older and age has caught up
with me, that is just life. Most of people at 35th reunion are coming to the 40th. I have
not see most of them in 5 years, and it would be just fun to do so. Perhaps, I can be a
young person again, just as in 1994.
In another 5 years, I may look at the photos taken at the 40th reunion and I may think I
look like young person in 1999. The point of all these is that we are at a stage of our
life we need to treasure the time we have, to know how to stay healthy and to make sure we
can get to go places. Do not miss the opportunity to do things, do not put off doing
things.
Come to the reunion in Toronto in August 1999. There is still time to join, and it is time
to say hello again after all these years.
