Random walk on thoughts

in response to " Food for Thought"
Dennis Su

You are so right. But it is sad that such deep thought only make sense to old folks like me after hard knocking around for forty years or so to realise what the message means and agree with it. Maybe its just me, one who not used to stop and ponder the meaning of life once in awhile.  Luckily, its in my blood that I just love adventure and "experience" life as things fall into place. I always know that someone will keep track and write such meaningful thing about life. Its almost like " hey, I just work here, don't ask me why"

Since highschool days, I used to plan thing out before it took place.  Somewhere along life, (probably after getting married when my life involved more than one person) then slowly and bit by bit, my planning habit faded away. Now I just accept whatever happens happens. Case in point, I used to write down everything I would pack for a trip and during that process, I tried to imagine all possible situations and be readied for them. Then life got complicated with wife, kids, parents (remember the term "sandwiched generation" ) in addition to one's career and social life's demands, I gave up planning. Now that I think about it, maybe it is the best survival instinct at work. Otherwise, onc can be so frustrated and upset everytime something not planned happened. So, when my daughters were born, I just did whatever is needed as a parent. When my father was in hospital and later died, same attitude. Such events in life are beyond my imagination due to lack of experience and therefore cannot planned out ahead of time. One needs some rationale to justify such lack of planning as not to loose control. We Pui CHing guys are good at rationale.

Now I do dance like no ones watching, work like I don't need the money and (pssss love like it never hurts. This last subject is too sensitive to be discussed on open email. ) ha ha. Are you pushing for the idea that love life begins after fifty ?

Enough exposing ones secret desire. Finally, it is ok to put on the site if you put this together with your "food for thought". I hope that such talk will inspire other to write.
