Hi to All that is interested in the "Snow
Lotus",
I am glad that the subject has produced some
interest from you. There are many articles surfaced when I searched for the "Healing
Fungus" regarding the Kombucha mushroom in English. However, there was only one
article briefly mentioned the "Snow Lotus".
The "Snow Lotus" is different. It is
grown in 2% milk as the nutrient. I guess that is why it is called "Tien Shan Shuit
Lien". That is the translation in Cantonese.
The fungus is snow white that resembled the
look of cauliflower. It grows at a rate of doubling every 18-20 days. What it is,
according to the leaflet I got, is that one drinks the residual milk that contained the
stuff from the "Snow Lotus" after each day. Similar to the Kombucha mushroom as
described by Dennis, the fungus is not consumed and is, therefore, perpetual. Of
course, the milk will have been soured after 24 hours at room temperature. Drinking it is
not the most desirable experience. But, if it can do what it has promised to do (The
healing fungus contains many nutrients required by the body.), it would be worth of a
trial. After all, Dennis did try Kombucha. It works but he quitted because of too much
work!! Common, Dennis, you need to be more persistent. Get rid of them gray hairs.
I was hoping that through the Lighter's
contacts, more information could be obtained. Apparently, there is very little information
on the item other than what I have already. It might be an interesting project for the
Lighter's (with the vast knowledge on many fields) to investigate the process to see if
its healing power could be explained scientifically. It could be the next Nobel!!!
As I have mentioned, the fungus is not for sale. It is made available only to those
fortunate few that has the opportunity to cross path with someone who has it. Furthermore,
that someone must be willing to offer it too.
Kamsik thought I was too much into the Kung Fu
novels to believe in "Snow Lotus". It may be true. But those were the only
source that I have heard of mentioning of "Tien Shan Shuit Lien". Now, I heard
it again in reality and have witnessed a living specimen. That is why I am seeking further
knowledge on the subject, hopefully, through the contacts of the Lighters. I am glad that
Lillian has some interest in the subject. May be she could find some useful information.
Barbara, Sorry that I can't write Chinese using
e-mail. May be SS or Peter Tong could translate it. I do have a Chinese version which
essentially described as the English version. If you are interested, I might be able to
send you a copy for your reference. If you are committed to grow and use it, I can
approach that and try to get you a sample in August reunion. The problem is that it
required daily attention. The milk on the fungus must be cleaned daily.
I only send message to the few that have shown
interest in the subject for discussion. I don't want to over burden others that might not
have the interest. Also, we have to keep in mind to keep the floodgate from opening too
wide. We will keep it somewhat exclusive. Like the leaflet said
"Nourish the fungus, it is never to be
sold, it is always a gift. Nourish your fungus so that it may bestow good health upon
you."
Until we talk again,
Jokesing
