On the Oscar

Dennis Su

Maybe I am too sensitive but I do have a few thoughts to share regardless of how inappropriate they are viewed.

1. The best documentary went to " the Last Day" about the Jew in concentration camps. The producer after thanked all involved made a statement about the reason and cause behind it.

2. The best foreign film went to one that make fun at the facists and enemy of the Jews.

3. It just reinforced my bvelieve that Hollywood and most of the mass entertainment business is run by Jewish folks.

4. I envy and admire their efforts to watch over, to protect and to further educate the world on their interest and cause. My feeling is strong on this subject because recently the Chinese American are trying to understand why we are so misunderstood, ignored at times and poorly labeled by the media. The latest example being the Los Alamo Lab case.

5. Looking at the success and talent and support given by Steven Spilberg, can we have some brilliant Chinese American who can get a handle on the public image and even the public opinion in this country and improve the situation ?

6. A comforting thought ( maybe the opposite ), so we are getting John Woo, Jackie Chan and Chow Yun Fat in Hollywood but are their products something we can be proud of ? Sure they generate interest alright, make them rich maybe, but the message they carry ? shoot them up ?

That's what you get for asking an architect on Oscar. Our minds just go places man.
