(1) "An unfulfilled death wish" ---This
Oxford University don is dying of prostate cancer, and he wants to visit his wife whom he
has not seen for 4 years before he dies, but the
country in which she lives would not let him come. She chooses not to visit him, fearful
of her government would bar her return once departures from her country. He dies at an age
of 53 without seeing her for the last time.
Do you think this a very sad and romantic story? I do.
On the other hand, you may not be able to find this movie at any theater anywhere. This
movie has not been made yet, since the true life human drama has unfolded and ended last
week in Oxford, England. The man was named Michael Aris, husband of Aung San Suu Kyi, the
1991 Peace Nobel Prize winner and the leading dissident of Burma.
