History 2

James Koo

I am glad the Lighters are reading my article about Mongolia and Tibet. I am also glad that the article caused some commotion—believe the reason you asked me to write something to the Lighters. You know what I can do. I am forever get into troubles. I told one Lighter that the middle initial  "T" of my name stands for Trouble.

I am puzzled that K. K. Lee is upset with me just because I learned the British version of Tibet history in Hong Kong. I did put China and Taiwan versions in my article that Tibet is part of China, and that is my personal version of Tibet. However, one Lighter just wrote to me that a colleague of the Lighter learned Tibet was an independent country in school in India. Any Lighter knows more about British version of Tibet history? I understand British had a strong presence and interest in Tibet.

Again, I find the Bell Labs formula still works. By discussing a subject I know little about, I invited more people to join in; and exposed my ignorance and stupidity.

When things get too quiet or boring, S. S. Lau, just ask me to write another article about history.
