Car sky car earth

I am doing this "car" piece to say that I am quite likely the poorest  history student at Pui-Ching of our class. I don't remember a thing about anything. All thoughts I share with the Lighters are essentially based on personal inclinations and perception at the moment, and truly intended to promote communications between all of us to have a good laugh or perhaps a tiny smile to bring about a more tolerable day. In my heart, I believe James has the exact same intentions. He wrote " memorial day" to promote friendship among us by sharing his thoughts on what he remembered. It is rather ironic that whatever James has in mind it is controversial. It just shows he has the power to stir up debates. More power to James.

I am the first to admit that I have been and am under the influence of the press, including those in various countries. The running joke between A Chai and me is that when Lam Ted-Man came back from Germany after his military service, Lam used to hang out in our apartment in Berkeley, sipping " southern comfort" all night long by himself as if trying to contemplate the purpose of life. One day Ted-Man told us he decided to go into law ( Lam was a math graduate at Berkeley), and we were puzzled and wanted how he could just switch like that. He said "it is easy, all you need is to read the newspaper and you'll learn everything you want to know". A Chai and I could not stop laughing for three days. In fact I still chuckle whenever I think of this line. Today, Ted-man is a lawyer. Oh, yes the power of the press and the pen is mightier than the sword. ( Lighter lawyers, this is a direct quote and can be confirmed. I am not the one to blame, Ha!!!Ha!!! )

As for the NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy, it has brought on an incredible amount of strong protest around the world. I hear from York Liao who is Chinese while American educated. I hear everywhere for this inexcusable event. I hear often from myself. It is a bigger bomb than the bomb itself by multiple times, and more leathal than any unintentional or intentional military error committed in recent times.

I do not believe, however, whatever James expressed in his article had a single strand of anything except to share what he remembered and what his perception was at that moment. It is all for the intent and purpose to refresh our friendship and the remembrance of the PC days. And these were the good old days.

BTW, knowing how messed up military intelligence can be, everyone who has moved in the last 20 years should e-mail the new address to all intelligence organizations of all nations. Moving the embassy in 1996 and assuming everyone knows is an unjustifiable assumption. Tony Kwok, please e-mail your new address to everyone you can think of, just in case.
