History 4

Louis Lee

When Canadian or American citizens say that Tibet was an independent country  until Communist China invaded Tibet - I just laugh and say that they do not  know Chinese history. however, it is hard for me to laugh and accept that a  Pui Ching classmate believe that Tibet was an independent country until  China invaded them. Dear S.S., did we learn that Tibet was a part of CHINA   since Ching dynasty in Pui Ching? I hope that James Koo is not going to be   mad at me when I concluded that he is a poor student in history.

My recollection is that Tibet had been annexed by China for hundreds of years. Well, we all know that from reading novels about the Emperors in Ching or earlier dynasties relying on the monks from Tibet for various things, including aphrodisiacs and whatnot. Sorry to say I have given back most what I learned form Short Lam and Mr. Mei. I remember stories they told quite well, however.

As for James being mad at anyone, this is just not going to be the case. I have been his most critical adversary in some of his articles. In fact I  took issues with many of the Lighters views, but it is just fun to do so, to make life more interesting. And to sharpen our sense of good old days of " twilight " time. Boy, that was great fun. Is it not good fun to had this view exchange ? I think James is a poor student in history, he admits it himself.

It is time to say Welcome to Toronto; August is the best time visiting  Canada. I hope all Lighters will come.
Best Wishes. Louis Lee.
