Tibet's Aftermath

It is true that James has put his foot in his mouth again; however, Louis does reacted on a short fuse. I sent James a joke about wife's name etc. to cheer him up. We all know that Tibet and Inner Mongolia belongs to China since primary school history classes. I did not look up an encyclopedia, Britainica or others, but a copy of Chinese Map. It did name Tibet as an autonomous region. So, James is not all wet. What is important is that Louis worries that not too long from now, Uncle Sam might use her membership in SEATO (South-East Asia Treaty Organization) to bomb China under the pretense of helping Tibetans. Who knows, the media these days do stir-up bad blood between China and America quite often. If American wants to bring back gun-boat diplomacy a la "Sandpiper", a movie starred Steve McQueen; no other countries in the world will be in her way. Cold war is gone. The distinction of East and West blocks went with the Berlin Wall. To safe guard the future of China might need a sort of soft sell to the American People by a reputable firm such as Kissinger and Associates. Insofar as whether the efforts will work or not depends on Mrs. Clinton will run for the New York Senator's seat or go work for Kissinger when Bill leaves office It is anyone's guess. My daughter graduated from Cal State - Fullerton with a B. A. in Communications last Saturday. She's also one of the two students who delivered speeches for the class of '99. If any Lighters want to sign her up for the PR job to mend Sino-American relations, I'm sure she'll consider the offer.
