Response to Dennis Su's article

Hi, everyone:
Do you notice that the people making a lot of noises in this country are getting to be less and less educated or more ignorant. We are seeing killings by very young people in the society, the protestor in
Seattle as Dennis described and the other day I heard over the national news that a presidential candidate used the most coarse term in the most inappropriate place of another country. I don't know whether he will become president or not. I would like to know what do you all see that this country is going to be in relationship to the rest of the world and what is the direction of this world moving toward? How about let us start some comments!

Barbara

Hi, Barbara,
How are you? I just learnt from your email that the U.S. presidential candidate used bad language somewhere in the world. I also noted that you are unhappy about the killing done by the young in USA.

Well, it is bad. I do agree with you. However, it has been part of the history of mankind about the killing and language. We cannot change the world, but we can change ourselves to suit the world. The world has been dominated by a spices called Human Beings. Human beings love to have friends and enemy. Human beings love to kill and to give birth. There was a book called The Naked Apes, which is a detailed account of human nature.

I must say that USA have been improved quite a lot since I lived there last, in 1966. I visited the States many times in the last 30 years. I still love places like San Francisco, San Diego, LA, Washington D C , Boston, Chicago, etc.

Barbara, you live in one of the best parts of the world. In fact, I do not mind to be in your shoes, living in one of the best parts of the world. Enjoy all fresh vegetables and fruits, see the forest and blue sky. In Hong Kong, to-day is Sunday, I am still working. In the States, people do not work anymore on Sundays, don't they? If you do not like what is going on in the States, just switch off the television and read newspaper instead. In the newspaper, the objectives are very positive.

Barbara, do you like to read the old Buddhism doctrine, The Virtue of Heart (Chinese name: Sum King) and Kim Kong King. These two documents tell us how to see the world and ourselves. I can send you a copy of Sum King, the one with my own calligraphy. I have written one and engraved it in granite in one of the park I designed.

Tony, this piece of message may echo Barbara's comment in the platform of debate.

Thanks for reading!
