Movie Talk

(1) MI-2----a John Woo movie, and should be enjoyed as such and no more. Two things are duly noted, i) An Audi TT was featured in a car chase, first time I have seen an Audi in an action movie, ii)Thandie Newton, a cool actress of English and Zimbabwean parentage, graduate of Cambridge University, and a contemporary of Nicole Kiddman. I read that Kiddman recommended her to Tom Cruise, the co-producer. I have
not seen her before in movies. It is my loss entirely.

(2) Shanghai Noon--- a Jackie Chan movie as all of us know. It is pure entertainment with a Chinese railroad camp in the Old West as a background. It is refreshing way in treating such bad labor practice. The only problem was the Chinese laborers should have spoken Taoshanese instead of Mandarin in the movie.

(3) Small time crooks--- a Woody Allen movie, not one of this best, but a good one. This movie is everything that MI-2 is not. It goes to show that there are many ways to tell a story.
