"Kundun"---A movie long on symbolism and short on drama, it is nevertheless an absorbing movie for film watchers such as me. China has been portrayed as the evil empire in invading Tibet and committed all the atrocities in that region. The actors who played Chinese were particularly emphatic. They must have been directed to over-play their parts to the point of being silly and absurd. If " Seven years in Tibet" could not be shown in Hong Kong, there is no hope for this one. It is interesting to note that China is on the receiving end of bad propaganda for quite some time. " 60 minutes " just showed a segment on the bad drug that China made and killed a bunch of patients in Africa. The West is looking for an enemy to replace the former Soviet Union.
