Dear Lighters:
After reading the latest article from Bobby , SS and other lighters I have something to add.
Carl Man, what a character, during the three years we were at Illinois, he was in my
apartment almost daily bothering me, eating my food, sleeping on my bed. He lived in some kind fraternity which I assume he
must hated. He did send me a wedding gift in 1968 but did not come to my wedding and I have not seen him since 1963. May be we can find him
through the search feature of the internet. I will give it a try when I get around to it.
Another is the summer job in Catskills resort. Bobby, Albert Chan, Larry Wan and I
were the four lighters and there were some other PCers. There was a gambling joint set up by the Phillipino Dining room chief to suck
all the workers dry. Albert was very good at it, I think he finished the summer with winnings. I do not know if Bobby still remember we
three lighters (Larry did not join in , too pure a guy) played the banker one night and managed to win a few hundred dollars that night. That was
BIG BUCKS in those days.
