My commentary on TitanicBy Warren Li (a.k.a. Alec's & Ann's son) I thought Titanic was an excellent movie to watch and for the first time in several years, my parents (i.e. Ann & Alec) and I had solid discussions about the movie. We had debates
on contravening topics such as not supporting the British
way of class distinction. For example, the third class
passengers are not allowed to Personally, I liked the love story and drama parts more than the real action, because the real action is too sad to see too many people die. The love story and drama parts contain hilarious scenes such as the poor artist (main character) teaching the posh, rich girl how to spit onto the ocean. The most funny part is when that girl's mother saw him do that while the spit is below his lip. The mother figured that he is a disgusting scum. Of course, as a member of high socialite society, even talking to a poor guy is a big no no. That's what made the scene hilarious to us. Special effects were excellent, because of putting in so much intricate detail about the interior of the Titanic like comparing the sunk wreckage with the flamboyant equivalent in 1912. Also the ending was pretty powerful to me. Congratulations Titanic for winning many Golden Globe Awards and let's hope that it wins at least an Oscar. My dad liked the 100 year old lady and bet she'll win the best supporting actress at the Oscars. Our family enjoyed Titanic. |
