Walter Mok gave a talk "Emulating Silicon Valley" at Chinese University of HK

Reported James Koo

Today Walter Mok (D18) of Palo Alto, California gave a talk "Emulating Silicon Valley" at Chinese University of HK. Several of us Lighters showed up to give him the moral support and show the flag of Pui Ching. The huge, modern auditorium was well attended. The one hour talk was excellent.
Walter was well prepared, and the delivery was good. We Lighters all can be proud of him. Hope this will lift the spirit of those Lighters in U.S. after the 911.

After living in Silicon Valley close to 30 years (before most of the attendees there were born), this old dog learned many things about Silicon Valley. Here are the photos. Due to hi-tech, those of you in U.S., Canada, and S. America possibly can see these photos before the time it was delivered (on 10/27 2:30PM, if Tony can put these photos up today). I have compressed the file for posting on the Lighter website. If you wish to have a high quality print from a larger file, please let me know at jtkoo@hotmail.com.

I was thinking about asking Walter during the Q&A session, as HK officials want to make HK the "Super Manhattan," so instead of "Emulating Silicon Valley," why not "HK, Super Silicon Valley." Would we want anything less for HK?

Now the only thing missing is the traditional "dinner," (how can a Chinese get together without food, it will be incomplete) that will be tomorrow.
