Rainbow - After the Rain

Translated by Bob Chen
A night of incessant rain,
    sweeps away the heartfelt doldrums.
Stacks of ocean waves,
roll in the kelp from the coastal beach-head.
Bright morning after the rain,
early jogger runs on the sand,
a long line of foot-prints points straight into the wind.
A golden retriever chases the thrown branch of the master.
A maiden clothed in black,
sitting on a beached driftwood,
stirring the white foam with a blank look.
Sunrise in the morn
wipes out the backward shadows in the ground,
a soft breeze wakens the good earth,
one after another the early morning loud sound,
follows that pulse gone and reappearing.
Standing upright
on a high mound,
flowing in the wind with unkempt hair waving.
By the mountainside
appeared two arches of rainbow,
they showed off the deep green mountain hues vividly,
so colorful
and bright.
At the end of the rainbow,
     waiting patiently...
                    promise,
                           blessing,
                                   and light.
Two arches of rainbow,
          double the promises,
                         twice the blessings,
                                    light and more light!
