You may read that due to SARS in HK, schools are closed, certain people are quarantined, the passenger load on Cathy Pacific reduced by 60%, the occupancy rate at 5 star hotels is in single digits, travel agencies reported drop of 70-80% bookings, several restaurants have gong under, and everybody stays at home.
All the statistics aside, the impact of SARS on HK is beyond the imagination of most of the Lighters if you have moved overseas. I, like many others, have been working from home lately. After stayed indoor for long time, I decided to don my mask, venture out and took some photos at noon on Sat. in Tsim Sha Tsui, where I live, to show you what is going on HK. I also included two other photos on a flight to HK recently. By the way, this is the time for Canton Trade Fair, and the Easter Holiday—the peak season for HK tourism.
