AN OPEN LETTER TO CHAIRMAN W. T. PANG

Wu Yin

Dear Woon-Tong;

I address this letter to you because I understand that you are the person who is looking after the general well being of the Lighter's Association.

After studying the program of the coming reunion, I think it is my duty that I should make a few things clear to other Lighters all over the world. I also quite sure that I am speaking on behave of the majority of Lighters living in the Land Downunder.

After talking to most of the Lighters living in Sydney,(almost all Lighters in Aussie Land are Sydneysiders, except myself) it is my sad duty to inform you that NONE of the Lighters from Australia is going to sign up for the Reunion. Then, because we only represent a handful of Lighters, one can say  "no big deal. But the fact that were denied the opportunity to sign up is indeed a "big deal."

The major obstacle for us is the cost. And the program only has one choice. However, when one realizes that it is beyond his means the rest seem irrelevant.

Please also let me point out that all Lighters from Downunder failed to sign up in three of the four Reunions. In HK Reunion, we have more than 80% Lighters signed up. Seto-Ching wanted to join, but missed out on medical reason. Otherwise the % would be higher. They say statistics don't lie. The facts speak for themselves.

It is not that we Lighters Downunder do not want to join or support the reunion. The reason is that it is beyond our reach.

Best wishes.

A Lighter from Downunder Wu Yin.
