Dear Lighters,
S.S. Lau and Kwai-Ling said farewell to us and left Hong Kong for SanDiego
yesterday.
S.S. was literary staying with us since June 2002 when he came to HK onhis
research and consultation mission at the City University of HK. During his
stay here, he added lots of fun and joy to our table tennis games, hiking
trips, Lighters' dinner parties and other functions. He gave advice and
worked closely with the committee of the 2002 Reunion in HK before and after
his arrival. Moreover, he took active involvement in, and gave great support
to the Reunion events all the way through.
Recently, he has written a report on the misuse of the name Pui-Ching by
unauthorized persons to C. C. Luk, Vice President of HK Pui Chi Alumni
Association and requested Luk to urge the HK Pui Ching School Board of
Governors to commence the claim for "intellectual property" of the name
Pui-Ching.
In order to show our appreciation of S.S.'s contributions to the Lighters
while he was in HK, we organized a farewell dinner for S. S. and Kwai-Ling
at the Yau Yat Chuen Club last week. During the dinner, our President Pang
Woon-Tong presented a Chinese poem written by "Arn Hsu" to S.S. to remind
him that he would be missed by Hong Kong Lighters. Attached is the poem
which I hope you will enjoy reading.
We wish S. S. and Kwai-Ling all the best and hope that they will visit HK
again.
