LIFE !

Lawrence Wong

I attended the Pui Ching Alumni Association's meeting on Wednesday, March 4. We had a menorial service for late Mr.Lam Chao-Yung. Lighter's number to attend was 7. There was about 38 people to attend the meeting. Peter B. Sun gave a talk on the characteristic of Mr. Lam and Chan Lick-Hung expressed his view about Mr Lam. Mr Lam's son Lam Sing-Che expressed his thanks to us for holding that meeting. The meeting was not finished yet, we had a speaker,( I don't remember his name ) who told us how he fought his cancer battle and how he won the battle for years. He wrote a book about himself too. After the meeting, we had our dinner in Pui Ching's canteen. Before the above-said meeting, we, the Lighters learned that Ms. Hsu Wen (A8) passed away on mid January 1998. We were shocked to hear of her death. The fact was, Pui Ching Allumni Association sent a letter to Hse Wen asking her to attend the about menorial service. Her letter was returned to the Association's Secretary from her husband informing the Secretary to strike off her name from the Association's name list as she has passed away. Our C.C. Luk told us that he knew the news before but he did not tell us because he could not confirm the matter.

Well, I just opened a big dictionary and finished reading the word "life". I do not know what to tell you. Perhaps I can say to you is, the "life" has only 4 alphabets, too short.
