To All Lighters,
On the evening of August 16, during the gala dinner at Thistle Marble Arch
Hotel, the results of 47.5th. and 50th. reunions survey was announced.
Part I - For the 47.5th. Reunion:
(a) votes via internet - 22 for Australia, 23 for Las Vegas and 16 for
Washington D.C.,
(b) votes by mail (more than 35 letters were sent out) - 7 for Australia, 4
for Las Vegas and 5 for Washington D.C.
Total votes counted: 29 for Australian, 27 for Las Vegas and 21 for
Washington D.C., Australia has won! Since no one from Australia at the
reunion has committed to take up the responsibility to organize the event,
President Pang will communicate with the rest of the Australian Lighters
after he returns to Hong Kong. A final decision will be announced before
October 1, 2004.
Alternatives for this reunion were suggested as: South American cruise,
China, Hawaii, San Diego, New England area in the US, Ottawa, Quebec,
Southern France, Spain and Portugal: however, each of these places got only
one vote.
A lighter from Australia has written that December will be too hot and
September is better. The best month is April; in addition, Royal Ester Show
is a big event in Sydney and will be held in April every year.
Part II - For the 50th. Reunion in Hong Kong:
(a) votes via internet - 32 for "Yes", 1 for "No",
(b) votes by mail - 13 for "Yes", 0 for "No".
The total votes counted: 45 for "Yes" and 1 for "No". "Yes" has won!
Thank you so much for those who has participate on this survey and you votes
are very valuable to the Lighters and will be honored in every respect.
