The Already Dead Tree

Translated by Bob Chen

The dead gray tree shows off the pitch black cloud formation,
the exposed root snarl,
resembles a dying dry mummified hand,
exhaustedly grasping at the gravel on the ground.
The hot gravel lying in the sandy soil,
heated, to show the cracks and flaws on the verge of bursting,
dried, devoid with no trace of any water vapor smell.
The peeled dead tree bark,
hanging on the grey white trunk,
following the roll of the dark cloud,
the blowing wind pushes the tree,
the sharp axe leaning against the tree,
shows off the sparkling brightness.
The wilted leaves will never hang on the tree ever,
the dropped ones have long gone to mulch,
A grey white painting,
colorlessly lies on a jet black screen.
The shining axe,
the dead tree,
no fruit abound,
whack it down!
Throw it into the fire!
