To Catch A Star on the Way to Toronto, Greece, and Beyond (1)

Translated by Bob Chen

Procrastinate once, and procrastinate again, "To Catch A Star on the Way" was started on this date due to no reasons other than the fear of people's ridicule: "See for yourself, he's getting old, only writes about reminiscence." Moreover the feeling of "the bird will die soon, her chirppings are sad; the man's life is about to end, his words are kind." In fact when I think about this dichotomy of yes/no, the answer is no. We have reached our golden years, having the chance to look back, to reflect. Do the yuppies have the right stuff? Of course not,
I'm positive.

Looking back, toiling half a century's road is definitely not short, there is more to come, it won't be like the past, by trial and error, charging headlong was in bygone days, not anymore. Steadfastly I run towards the goal! The deeds to be done are many, roll up my sleeves, not to pick fights, young man, watch me.

Not too long ago, I wrote "Rocking into the Night Clouds from the Porch", it is not merely an old stuffy piece, instead it's like Jack Kennedy sitting in a Boston rocker, enjoying life!

Half of a century's work is not wasted, although it is not always outstanding, it has enough shining moments, one cannot its uneventful. Deep in my heart, I'm at peace, I treated myself fairly, and more so to others. If I offended anyone, they were unintentional, I've no regrets! In the eyes of others, it might be complaints, to me they are "muscle pains" only.

Don't weep for me, please do cheer me on! Friends, wait and see!
